The complete policy governing the use of University of Iowa athletics marks, including the Tigerhawk and the Herky mascot, is available from the Trademark Licensing Office and the Iowa Hawkeyes Brand Standards Manual.



This Brand Manual provides standards for adhering to the University of Iowa graphic identity for all print and digital communications. Use of the identity on manufactured goods or products falls under additional guidelines.

Suppliers who manufacture and/or
 sell items imprinted with elements of the University of Iowa graphic identity are required 
to be licensed by the university. Accordingly, university units and student groups are required to purchase emblematic merchandise from officially licensed vendors. Products and designs must be approved by the Trademark Licensing Office


Printing Services

All University of Iowa printing and copying must go through UI Printing Services. Please see the UI Operations Manual for more information about this policy. Printing Services provides letterhead, envelope, and business card templates that facilitate consistent use of the University of Iowa visual identity.



All University of Iowa signage should display an approved logo configuration. Facilities Management oversees signage templates as part of campus master planning.
